Have you noticed that after enjoying certain drinks, your mouth could be tinted the same color as the beverage? Luckily, this is generally a temporary status, but did you know that some drinks can lead to permanent stains? This can be especially problematic since most people strive to maintain a white, beautiful smile. To enjoy these benefits, it’s important to know what drinks you should be careful with.

For instance, some people need their morning cup of coffee. Unfortunately, coffee is the most common offender when it comes to stained teeth. Taking your coffee black makes it even worse, but if you add just a little milk, you can greatly reduce stained teeth. If you drink a cold, dark soda you are also likely to stain your teeth. You see, soda is usually cold and cold drinks will make your teeth porous and more susceptible to staining.

Luckily, there are a few tricks you can follow to avoid these issues. For instance, drinking colored beverage through a straw can reduce staining. Similarly, if you rinse your mouth out with water after having a colored beverage, you can rinse the color and acid from your teeth
